new zealand part three – arrowtown

Arrowtown is an old gold mining town near Queenstown that we fell in love with. It was scattered with quaint little cottages and the tree covered mountains were shimmering in the golden colours of autumn. We ate ice cream, panned for gold with our frying pan (who knew, right?), took photos of all the little houses the gold miners used to live in and pretty much planned to move there. On the way out we drove up a mountain that overlooked the ridiculous painting-esque valley below. It’s hard to believe that all of this is merely three hours away…

Next stop, Milford Sound…
